The marker reads: "John Trevarthen Sr. Died June 3rd 1898, 89 years." Most of the Trevarthen family and those of an alternate spelling, Treveathen, are buried at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. The marker is currently [2010] stored in the archives at the Cripple Creek District Museum.
